Our Russians are made in Boksburg by a meat manufacturer that has been in the industry since 1996. We are not fly-by-nights. We don’t make our Russians in a garage or a small butchery.
What FSSC means
FSSC is an international food safety certification, recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and trusted by food companies worldwide. It builds on the ISO 22000 food safety standard and HACCP, and adds strict extra requirements. An independent auditor checks the factory every year, including surprise audits, and certified factories are listed on a public register that anyone can check.
What HACCP means
HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points. The factory finds every step where a food safety risk could appear, sets strict limits at those steps, checks them all the time, fixes problems at once and keeps records. In South Africa the standard is SANS 10330, and an independent body audits it.
These certifications are held by the Boksburg facility where our Russians are made.
